DramaZone is an Award Winning Company bringing you Classes and Entertainment for Children specializing in ages 5th Grade to Preschool, Teacher Training Seminars and Kindergarten Prep.

Classes

As for our classes: Dance, Sports, Tae Kwon Do, Soccer, Tennis, Preschool Division of Specialty Classes, Production Classes and more. We hand pick professionals with the highest level of training. We train all our teachers in our own teacher training and develop custom curriculums for each school. We create curriculums based on school's individual goald and needs and build upon our already excellent reputation for only the highest standands and reliability. Although we include high standards to our classes we focus on the fun! We believe if the class is not fun for the children it will not be the most beneficial learning environment. Some class topics include: Preschool Specialty topics, Hip Hop, Sports Games, Ballet, Tae Kwon Do, Puppet Play and more, Our sports offering is not limited to: Soccer, Tennis, Workout Classes and Tae Kwon Do we offer All Around Super Sports. Our Elementary School Dance and Drama Classes are: Ballet, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Jazz, Tap, Acting Games, Production Class, and much much more.

Instructors

As for our instructors we search for teachers with experience in more than one discipline as well as having exceptional experience in their chosen field. Many are fully unionized in SAG, AFTRA, and AEA and many have Teacher Certification. We have many teachers and entertainers with Broadway and International credits and we seek a special person who is teach without losing the "fun" in the class. These instructors often are multi talented and many are exceptional with preschoolers having developed our Preschooler Speciality Department in a variety of disciplines from Ballet, and Sports Games to Tae Kwon Do. We have Rockettes who teach tap and ballet and Art Teachers who are working actors who have done set design. We take pride in finding the right match for for each school and all teachers must commit to our teacher training program which cover NY State Guidelines. We have won our place at some of NYC's finest private and public schools and afterschools and hope for the continued honor to work with all of our students.

Teacher Training for NYC Placement and Teacher Training Seminars for Out of State Placement.

In addition to our teachers who are trained for the purpose of placement here in NYC, we offer teachers sent in from other states the ability to train at one of our weekend intensives and summer training weeks. If you are a school out of state and would like us to train a teacher to place at your school we train the teacher and continue training as a placement service provided by DramaZone.

During these sessions teachers will learn:

*How to set goal structured curriculum through movement, theatre and sensory work.
*How to organize the timing of a class to reap the biggest educational benefit.
*About the level expected by NYC instructors.
*To recreate Routines created by NYC performers and instructors
*To recreate Tested curriculums that have benefited some of the highest institutions
*Class Management techniques used to create the most fun per age while continuing the goals of the class.
*How to maximize an exercise plan for each age range without stress and pressure: with monthly goals, with finding the love in movement, with a healthy way to introduce movement without commiting to expensive ballet or tae kwon do schools.
*How to Teaching respect for all without losing your creativity.
*How Teaching all movement is FUN!

Employment

Contact us by sending us your resume and a cover letter why you'd like to become a DramaZone Instructor. Interviews and teaching interviews are scheduled at different points throughout the year. Classes are opening up daily. Only experienced teachers apply with a min. of two years in your chosen field and let us know what other areas you are proficient ie. unionized or certified as well as other forms of art, gymnastics, art, karate, guitar etc.

Kindergarten Admissions Preparation

Do you have a child entering Kindergarten? Don't take your child's preparation for the ERB or his interview for granted. There are only a handfull of seats available to fill in each private school. Students who have undergone preparation work with us are taught ways to bring out your child's strongest skills and see your child in his or her best light. Our students have a 90% acceptance rate. Give your child the edge he or she needs to compete for a place in New York's finest schools. Our Interview Preparation and coaching give young children entering Kindergarten the preparation your child needs to make the most positive first impression. Your child will work with our Artistic Director one on one. Preparation works upon children's strengths in a healthy confidence building progression. Your child will work with our Director who has experience knowing what works and what could hurt your child's chances. Nothing artificial is expected, no lines rehearsed. Only strength building exercises that cover the material catagorically displayed in the ERBs. We work to relax your child so only his or her strengths are displayed. Some private schools request that you do not send your child for tutoring and that it can hurt your chances for admission. That would be like saying, "Don't send your child for tutoring on the SAT". There is material on the ERB and there is an interview. Through working with our Director we merely cover the material in a safe, healthy environment so that the types of questions your child may be asked he or she may be familiar with and more readily able to answer than a child who has not heard of the material or is overwhelmed by his or her environment that the question is not recognized.

Additional DramaZone Offerings

We offer multi skill Parent/Child classes for ages 4 mos.-5 yrs. including music, movement and sensory work, play, bubbles, scarves and more. These classes are created to help foster growth as well as developing fine and gross motor skills much of it has our own confidence building DramaZone Music and feature education, theatre, movement and especially FUN!

We offerMulti-Style dance class for our little dancers. Tap Ballet Combo teaches the littles dancers 2.5 - 3.5 a broad exposure to each style with some technique, lots of movement and a love of different musical styles.

DramaZone has had the opportunity to recommend proficient students to once in a life time opportunities in New York's professional community such as Laurie Berkner's Videos, Television Appearances, as well as introductions to meet some of New Yorks most outstanding Agents in show business such as Robin Dornbaum from Jordan, Gill and Dornbaum.

About our Director

DramaZone Director, Laura Brown, a professional Dancer, Actor, Singer has a master's degree from Indiana University School of Music. She has performed internationally and is a member of Equity, SAG and and AFTRA.

All of our professional staff are teaching artists in their area of expertise, many in Equity, SAG or AFTRA, with advanced degrees, as well as teacher certification.
